We offer flexible leave policies for family needs. 


  • PTO & Unlimited Flex Time

    We provide a generous PTO package for all staff, but we don't stop there. 

    • We offer "Unlimited Flex Time," which means that if you have something you need to do in less than two hours, you can take that time without impacting your PTO. Doctors appointment? Check!
    • Everything we do is with purpose. Scholars leave at 2:20, and a teacher doesn't need to be in their room to catch up on what they need to do. As long as there isn't anything scheduled, staff can leave at 2:30. 
  • Parental Leave

    For the birth or adoption of a Child or to care for a foster Child:


    Full-time employees who have worked at the School for six consecutive months or more will be given up to twelve (12) weeks (480 hours) of paid Parenting Leave in the case of Primary Caregivers.


    Secondary Caregivers who have worked at the School for six consecutive months or more and up will be given two (2) weeks of paid leave and up to ten (10) weeks (400 hours) of paid Parenting Leave.

  • The Tools

    We provide it all - No really. We do. Everything you need for a classroom is provided for you. In addition, we provide a yearly classroom fund that allows you to put your own touch on your space without paying out of pocket. 


    Our environment is designed with teachers in mind. We have fully stocked workspaces for staff to unwind and also get things done. Supplies are always stocked so you can grab what you need. 

    Unlimited pencils, expos, and paper? Sign us up. 


    Also, let us know your favorite coffee when you join the team! We keep our workrooms stocked with rotating coffee selections for when you need that extra bump and a fountain Coke machine.


    Even before COVID-19, we had made the decision to ensure our staff and scholars have the technical tools that are unmatched. Teachers receive a new Macbook, iPad, iPhone, wireless doc cam, external monitor, touchscreen TV, and Apple TV for their classrooms. Scholars have one to one Chromebooks and ipads.

The Hiring Process

  • 1) Submit your Resume & Supporting Documents

    Welcome! We are excited that you're excited! We strive to streamline things for our team so that they have time to do the important things. All you need to do for step 1 is upload your resume. Spoiler alert! We don't make you re-enter everything on your resume. There is an option to upload any other supporting materials on the page as well.

  • 2) Onward in the Process

    After review of your resume, you will hear from us either way. If you are moving forward in our process we will email you with the next steps and pre-work before your final interview. This looks like the following steps...


    - Getting our interview guide that includes a data-based performance task for the final interview

    - We require all teaching positions to complete a sample teach

    -Reference Submission if you haven't done so already

    -Your educator certification status

    -College and University transcripts 

  • 3) Final Interview Day

    During them, you will have a traditional interview with our leaders, get to connect with current staff, do your sample teach, and get your questions answered. 

  • 4) Offer Day!

    After your interview, our team will work quickly to get you an answer. You will receive a call from our team within a few days.

FAQs

Applying to Adelante Schools & The Interview Process

  • What should I expect in the final interview?

    Before the interview, we will send a logistics memo outlining times and who you will be with.


    The interview starts with a question section and then moves into the sample teach. We always end with time for you to ask more about who we are.

  • What is the sample teach?

    Our organization thrives off of feedback in every direction, and it is ingrained in our culture. The Sample Teach is a chance for us to see how you present content and for you to see how we provide feedback. 


    Once you secure a final interview, we will send you information to access our Interview Portal. You will find the Sample Teach lesson plan and other helpful information on it. 

  • Why wasn't I selected to move forward in the interview process?

    Each application is read in its entirety by staff members and closely evaluated for position fit. Applications not meeting the required criteria are not moved forward in the hiring process.

  • How long is the interview process/timeline?

    We aim to move quickly to make the best use of both your and our time. We review applications as they come in and within a few days, you will hear if your application moves forward. From there, a School Leader sets an interview up with you. 


    Zoomed out, we hope to get you scheduled within a week of moving forward in the process and for you to have an answer from us quickly. 

  • Can I reapply for a position?

    We keep your application materials and status on file for a full year.  You can begin reapplying when the next school year application opens.



Working at Adelante Schools

  • What are the start and end times of the school year?

    For the 2022-2023 SY, scholars arrive at 7:20 and leave at 2:20. Saff hours are from 7:10 am to 4:10 pm. However, if nothing is scheduled for a staff member, they can leave at 2:30 pm.


    These times are for the current school year and could change in the future. 

  • What does a typical day as a teacher like?

    This differs for everyone. However, we ensure that you have a prep and a set schedule that ensures we're meeting the needs of the day. To see what this looks like from a Scholar's point of view, check this out.

  • Can teachers lead clubs or coach sports?

    YES! We offer over 20 free after-school clubs for scholars and a robust selection of athletics.
