Eddie Rangel

Executive Director  - Adelante Schools


Mr. Rangel serves as the founding Executive Director of Adelante Schools. He most recently served as a principal, where his students achieved double digit gains in ISTEP passing rates and the highest growth of all Marion County public charter schools.


Rangel has taught in IPS and Redlands Unified School District. He is a graduate of the Relay National Principal Academy, a 2014 Teach Plus Policy Fellow, and an alumnus of Teach For America. He served on Mayor Joe Hogsett’s Education Transition Team and the statewide Panel to Study Alternatives to the ISTEP Program Test.


He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University and a Master of Education in Public School Building Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.


Matthew Rooney

Chief Schools Officer


Mr. Rooney was the founding Middle School Principal and is a native of Indianapolis. He currently serves as the Managing Director of School Suppports. He most recently served as Principal of Democracy Prep Harlem High School in New York City. Under his leadership, 100% of his students earned acceptances to at least two four-year colleges, as well as New York Advanced Regents Diplomas. In 2020, Democracy Prep Harlem was ranked the #1 Best Public Charter High School in New York City and the entire state of New York by U.S. News & World Report.


Before serving in school leadership at Democracy Prep, Rooney taught at KIPP Indy College Prep Middle School in Indianapolis and as a Fulbright English Teacher in the Republic of Korea.


Rooney is a former Eli Lilly Scholar and proud graduate of Ball State University, as well as the Relay National Principals Academy. He has also completed extensive arts education training at Anderson University, the University of St. Thomas, and the Eastman School of Music.


Jordan Habayeb

Chief Operating Officer


Jordan Habayeb is the Chief Operating Officer for Adelante Schools. A graduate of Ball State University, he began his educational journey as a Teach For America - Detroit Corps Member and later served as a leadership coach and Assistant Principal. He holds master's degrees from Oakland University and Columbia University.


Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mr. Habayeb's passion for education is deeply personal, shaped by his own experiences as a special education student and navigating his identity as someone of Middle Eastern descent. He oversees all operational aspects of schooling, from finance to all systems, and is committed to ensuring they are both effective and equitable.


Through his work in more than 20 schools, he has seen firsthand how strong operations are crucial for advancing equity and raising the bar in schools. Mr. Habayeb aims to build systems that put families, scholars, and teachers first. His goal is to strengthen the operational foundation of schools to serve all students better, ensuring that scholars have unparalleled experiences at school.


Kendra Randle

Executive Principal - Adelante @ Emma Donnan


Kendra Randle is the Executive Principal at the Emma Donnan campus of Adelante Schools. With a solid seven-year track record of teaching students from 1st to 5th grade in Memphis, TN, and Indianapolis, IN, she brings a wealth of classroom experience to her leadership role. Randle is a distinguished graduate of Kentucky State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and she furthered her expertise with a Master of Arts in Education from Union University. Her journey with Adelante began in its inaugural year, where she initially served as a Dean and then advanced to the role of Principal in Residence. Randle's leadership is fueled by a deep-seated passion to empower scholars by providing them with the means to engage fully with the world around them.
