Hello Emma Donnan Families!

I hope that you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and were able to build memories with your loved ones. Our staff is excited to be back and ready to use these next three weeks to continue to push our scholars to their highest potential to have a strong ending to our first semester. Shout to our 4th graders in TSU for making the most growth (18 points) on their Clearsight Assessments this month. Hard work pays off! Please help us during these next several weeks with moving the academic needle by ensuring your scholar is here everyday and on time.

During the month of December, we have several exciting events/projects taking place that we want to share with you!

• Homerooms are competing against each other in a cardboard Gingerbread House contest. Scholars have been working hard on these houses all month.  We will be posting the houses on our social media for all to see next week.  May the best house win!

• Our Holiday Assistance program is this month! Thank you to Project Play, Ray Skillman, and the many community members that made this event possible!

• We added a K-8 Winter Performance to our calendar on December 20th.
  

Lastly, our community takes care of the scholars and families at Emma Donnan. We receive many donations throughout the year to support families when times may be tough. If you are in need anytime throughout the school year, please complete this form and we will do out best to connect you with the appropriate resources.

Holiday Assistance

We are looking forward to helping our Emma Donnan families with Holiday assistance. With the support of community organizations and community members we are able to sponsor 210 scholars.

Families may pick up their items December 14th to 16th. Families should come to door 3. The schedule for pick-up is as follows:

• If you are being sponsored by Project Play, pick is on December 14th from 7:45 AM - 9:45 AM AND 2:45 PM to 4:30 PM.
• All other families can pick up on one of the following days and times:
• December 15th from 7:45 am - 9:45 AM AND 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
• December 16th from 7:45 AM - 9:45 AM AND 2:45 PM to 4:30 PM

Where your child attends high school is one of the most important factors for their future success. Talk to your scholar about what kind of high school is best for them and your family. Then, here are your next steps:

• Window 1 for Enroll Indy One Match has begun!
• If scholars do not complete their high school application in Enroll Indy by the end of Window 1, they will likely not get a seat into a selective high school.
• Go to find.enrollindy.org
• Search your address and "9th grade"
• Find information about the schools in your area!
• Complete your OneMatch application & select your three top high school choices by Wednesday, December 21st.
  

Great schools are made with great teachers!

Two of our teachers were featured by Teach Indy on their social media for #mentionmonday this month. Thank you Ms. Nigam and Mr. Keys for all that you do for our Emma Donnan community.

The state of Indiana provides free tuition, books, and fees to all students who income-qualify to any public 2-year or 4-year college. This amounts to almost $100,000 of free money for your child's future. Scholars must sign-up before the end of middle school to qualify. See if your family qualifies and complete the application using the information below!

• Go to https://scholartrack.che.in.gov/
• Complete the online application by Wednesday, December 21st
• All scholars who enroll by this deadline will receive a free gift certificate to McDonald's to celebrate!
